Trip Cover is an optional travel insurance offered by Trainline to protect you if your trip is disrupted or you can’t travel for covered reasons.
It covers train journeys starting from within the EU and is provided by Cover Genius through their customer platform XCover.com.

Once purchased, you’ll receive a confirmation email from XCover.com with your policy details, coverage summary, and a link to manage your account.


2. What does Trip Cover include?

Trip Cover provides protection for:

  • Train ticket cancellation due to unforeseen events such as illness, injury, or serious damage to your home.

  • Missed departure or connection due to vehicle breakdowns or public transport delays.

  • Personal effects — such as baggage, valuables, or electronics that are lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged.

Your policy certificate will show full details, including limits and exclusions.


3. How can I add Trip Cover to my booking?

You can add Trip Cover during checkout when you buy your train tickets in the Trainline app or website.
If available in your country, it appears in the “Travel extras” section.
There’s no limit based on cost or travel date — you can add Trip Cover to any eligible journey.


4. How do I access my policy or make a claim?

You’ll receive a separate email from XCover.com when you buy your policy.
To view or manage your policy:

  1. Open your confirmation email from XCover.

  2. Click the link to log in or set up your XCover account.

  3. From your account, you can view documents, update details, or submit a claim.

5. How do I submit a claim?
