1. What is Trainline Flex?
Trainline Flex is an insurance add-on for selected Advance Single tickets.
Choosing Trainline Flex means you can cancel your ticket for any reason within the cancellation period and get 100% of your ticket cost back.
You’ll see the option during booking if your ticket is eligible. You’ll need to add Trainline Flex at the time of purchase.
2. How do I cancel and claim my ticket cost back?
If you’ve added Trainline Flex:
- Open your booking in the Trainline app or your web account.
- Select “Claim refund”
If your ticket meets the Trainline Flex conditions, you can request 100% of your ticket cost back to the card you select during the claim process.
Compensation processing times depends on your card provider.
3. What tickets does Trainline Flex apply to?
Trainline Flex is available for selected Advance Single tickets.
It’s not available for:
- Season tickets
- Open or fully flexible tickets
- Tickets that already allow refunds
Trainline Flex only applies to the specific ticket(s) it was purchased for.
4. Can I change my train instead of cancelling?
Trainline Flex allows you to cancel your advance single ticket and get your ticket cost back.
If your plans change, you can:
- Cancel your original ticket before your train departs, then
- Book a new ticket separately.
Any difference in fare will apply. Trainline Flex doesn’t turn your ticket into a flexible or open ticket.
5. What if I miss my train or cancel late?
Trainline Flex covers cancellations made before the scheduled departure time. Check the cancellation window for your ticket before you book.
If you cancel your ticket later than the cancellation window, or after the train has left, you won’t be able to claim your money back under Trainline Flex.
6. How does Trainline Flex work for multiple passengers?
Trainline Flex covers your whole booking. So, if you’re booking tickets for multiple people, they’ll all be covered under Trainline Flex.
7. Can I use Trainline Flex with a Railcard?
Yes, you can!
