Train travel within the UK
Train travel on Eurostar to and from London
All passengers traveling to or from the UK must submit their Advance Passenger Information (API) before departure to receive their ticket.
Additionally, the following documents are required:
- For UK citizens: A valid passport.
- For EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens:A valid passport (ID cards are no longer accepted for travel to the UK, except for specific exemptions).
- From April 2, 2025, some EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens may also need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before entering the UK. For more details and to apply, visit the UK government's official ETA guidance page.
- For non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens: A valid passport along with any required visa or travel authorisation (such as an ETA for eligible travelers starting in 2024).
Important: Infants and children must also have their own passport.
Train travel across mainland Europe
Carriers require a valid passport or EU identity card (EU citizens) that includes your full name, birthdate, and a photo.
Attention: If you plan to book a journey in Spain you will need to enter your passport details.
